Ten Mile Creek Reservoir Rehabilitation Project
Fort Pierce, Florida
Great Lakes EI performed rehabilitation work on the Ten Mile Creek Reservoir which involved clearing and grubbing of the borrow area, movement of 250,000 cy of borrow material to the perimeter canal, de-mucking of the canal, and proper placement of the fill material. Selected areas of the filled canal were treated with 7,000 tons of bentonite to render the placed borrow impermeable. This treatment was accomplished In Situ once the fill material was placed with the use of a soil stabilizing machine. 6,000 tons of riprap stone was placed over 75,000 sf of geo-composite clay liner at the both the influent and effluent pump stations.
