Marysville Ring Levee Phase 2A

The Marysville Ring Levee Phase 2A North project included strengthening a portion of the flood control levee along the Feather and Yuba Rivers, and consisted of degrading the existing levee, installing a 38’ deep cement bentonite seepage cutoff wall, and then rebuilding the levee. The Ring Levee retrofit was designed by the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Great Lakes E&I teamed with North Star Construction out of Yuba City, CA, to perform the work as a joint venture. North Star Construction’s crews completed the majority of the earthwork, while Great Lakes E&I’s crews completed the majority of the cutoff wall. At the completion of the project, the degrade of the levee equaled 35,000 cubic yards, the cutoff wall 44,380 square feet, and the regrading of the levee 45,000 cubic yards. Additional improvements included rebuilding the existing bike path, rebuilding an existing parking lot, and the installation of a new concrete retaining wall and storm drain system.
